Empathy is taking the time to listen to my users. What’s important to them? What are their pain points and what makes them happy? If I take the time to understand this, I have the opportunity to design something truly great.
Design is a team effort. There are solo, independent efforts, me as a designer need to put in, but there’s also the time spent getting feedback from my team and end users in order to continually improve.
What gets me up in the morning? Why is what I do important and why does it matter? The passion I have in being a designer lies at the very core of these questions. A hunger to better myself, to learn and to keep trying.
